Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which courses I need to complete prior to enrolling at 91ÖÆƬ³§?
Our Transfer Enrollment Coordinator will work with you to help determine the best courses for you to complete to ensure a strong foundation for the fast-paced and rigorous coursework you will encounter at 91ÖÆƬ³§, as well as courses that will guarantee to transfer to 91ÖÆƬ³§. Visit our community college info page to learn more. You can set up a time to connect with our transfer enrollment coordinator at tour.mines.edu or by emailing admissions@mines.edu
Do I need to transfer to a CCCS school or can I continue taking courses at my current institution?
You are welcome to attend any accredited college or university of your choice. We do, however, encourage students who are from Colorado, currently attending a college or university in Colorado, or considering moving to Colorado to strongly consider transferring to a community college in Colorado due to our articulated agreements and availability of guaranteed transferable and applicable coursework that is outlined. Visit our community college info page to learn more.
I was offered Pathways – what do I do now?
The only requirement at this time is to complete the Pathways Decision form outlined in your admissions decision letter (also available via your applicant portal) by the designated deadline. Submitting the Pathways form by the deadline holds your spot for the term for which you were conditionally offered admission and we will work with you and advise you on your next steps.
Is there a GPA requirement as part of my conditional acceptance?
Our minimum criteria is a 3.0 GPA. Preferred is 3.5. If your cumulative GPA is lower than a 3.0 we will want to see completion of additional coursework with As and Bs earned during that timeframe. If you already have a strong GPA, we want you to continue demonstrating strong academic excellence in your courses.
Can I be denied admission if I don’t meet the criteria outlined as part of my conditional acceptance?
Yes. If you do not complete the courses outlined in our preferred criteria and outlined in meeting with our transfer enrollment coordinator and/or you earn grades lower than As or Bs in your subsequent coursework, we will discuss future enrollment options. This may entail extending the timeline of your conditional acceptance in order for you to complete more courses and/or improve your GPA or discussing whether 91ÖÆƬ³§ is the right fit for you.
When do I submit my enrollment deposit?
If you submit the 91ÖÆƬ³§ Track to Transfer form, we will remain in communication with you as a conditional accepted transfer student. We will walk you through next steps including requirements to submit updated transcripts for us to review your academic progress and the deadline to submit your enrollment decision form and enrollment deposit. Â
