Ms. Steinberg has 25 years of business experience. After several years at Burson-Marsteller Public Relations in New York City, she joined Mobil Corporation in Corporate Public Affairs in 1974. She worked primarily in government and public relations in Mobil’s worldwide Exploration and Producing Division until 1981. She then held a series of planning and economics positions in New York, The Hague, Netherlands, and Houston, before assuming an area operations position in Oklahoma City, overseeing oil and natural gas production and gas plant operations in southern Oklahoma. Ms. Steinberg returned to The Hague as General Manager of Mobil’s natural gas affiliate company in the Netherlands, responsible for exploration and producing operations onshore and offshore. She also served as chairman of the Dutch Oil and Gas Operators Association (NOGEPA), involved chiefly in lobbying the Dutch Government and Parliament on political, economic, and environmental issues of importance to the oil and gas industry.
Upon returning to the United States in 1995, Ms. Steinberg joined Gemini Consulting for several years as a vice president in the firm’s energy practice, focusing primarily on business development.
For over 20 years, Ms. Steinberg has been active in a variety of non-profit organizations, including the National Public Radio Foundation, Aspen Public Radio (also past Chair), the Aspen Community Foundation, and Youth Zone. Currently, Ms. Steinberg is on the boards of the Aspen Music Festival & School, and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet (also past president), and J Street, in Washington, DC. In her board service, she has focused primarily on long-term/strategic planning issues. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in Political Science, and also studied at the London School of Economics and Columbia University. She and her husband, Paul Hoenmans, divide their time between a home in Aspen and a condo in Denver.
